Before the purchase and installation of an airbag seat sensor mat, make sure it is the correct fit for your vehicle.
- Due to the critical nature of the design of air bag systems, GM does not support the use of any used, salvaged, or imitation parts for repair. Only new, genuine GM warranted parts should be used in repair.
- Have sensors and airbags serviced by a trained technician.
- Have the airbag seat sensor mat inspected by a certified technician after all collisions.
- Regularly inspect airbag seat sensor mats for signs of damage or wear, and replace them if signs of damage are found.
- Refer to your Vehicle Owner’s manual for additional vehicle maintenance practices.
Signs of wear or damage for airbag arming status displays include but are not limited to:
- Illuminated malfunction indicator lamp
