About this product

GM Genuine Parts Axle Shafts are designed, engineered, and tested to rigorous standards, and are backed by General Motors. An axle shaft is a solid steel shaft that runs from the differential and gear set of an axle housing to the wheel. The purpose of the axle shaft is to transfer driving torque from the differential assembly to the vehicle's driving wheels. Used in two different designs, the axle shaft can be a straight shaft with splines machined into each end to engage both the differential on one end and a drive flange on the other. It also can be a straight shaft with splines machined into the differential end and a flange on the other to mount a wheel to the axle(i). GM Genuine Parts are the true OE parts installed during the production of or validated by General Motors for GM vehicles. Some GM Genuine Parts may have formerly appeared as ACDelco GM Original Equipment (OE).
